VIVA SPIDERMAN!

Here is, for your potential entertainment, VIVA SPIDERMAN!
I'm somewhat concerned that posting one's student film from twenty years (!) earlier is kind of like building a site around your own first communion pictures, but it's an unusual piece that I think could be of interest to a peculiar niche of the fan community to which I clearly belong.
Insiders will quickly recognize that this is not a parody of the Spider-Man comics, nor is it, in fact, a parody at all. Rather it is an homage to the Krantz Films animated cartoon SPIDERMAN (no hyphen), specifically, the second and third seasons produced by Ralph Bakshi in 1968.
Although many fans felt these episodes far inferior to the original 20 of season one, I found the combination of endlessly repeated shots of webslinging through a bleak city of psychedelic skies and crazy jazz stock needle drops absurdly compelling. So memorable were these images that when it came time to make my film school opus at NYU, I had no choice but to excise these perpetual film loops from my mind by recreating them with actors.
Fellow fans will instantly know which episodes where pillaged from in order to cobble together this love letter to a long dead series. Enjoy!
